13 March 2015 Milan, Italy – CASCADE & S4ECoB Joint Workshop “Energy Efficiency towards 2020: Building Management Systems for Airports and Shopping Centres"

S4ECoB consortium invited interested stakeholders to participate in the workshop “Energy Efficiency towards 2020: Building Management Systems for Airports and Shopping Centres". It was organized by the two EU funded research projects Sound for Energy Control of Buildings (S4ECoB) and ICT for Energy Efficient Airports (CASCADE) at Malpensa airport in Italy. In the morning session, the two ICT solutions for airports were the main focus; in the afternoon session, a round table discussion helped to interchange ideas and solutions. Airport and shopping center executives, energy managers, as well as all interested stakeholders in advanced ICT solutions for airports and shopping centers were invited to join the workshop. 11 March 2015, Madrid, Spain - S4ECoB Workshop Energy Efficient Buildings

Workshop in Madrid

S4ECoB invited interested stakeholders to a workshop organised in Schneider Electric permises in Getafe near Madrid, Spain. The workshop "Energy Efficient Buildings" was focused on public building executives, energy managers, as well as all interested stakeholders in advanced ICT solutions for buildings. Topics included application of novel BMS solutions, occupancy control methodology and a discussion on the practical application of innovative BMS solutions. 26 March 2014 Dresden, Germany - S4ECoB at DASIP 2014

Partners IMMS and Fraunhofer IDMT presented the S4ECoB project and the S4ECoB
demonstrator (together with a scientific poster) at the DATE conference and exhibition in Dresden, Germany.
During the two hour time slot there were intensive discussions with about 25 experts from industry and academia. DATE is a leading international event and unique networking opportunity for design and engineering of Systems-on-Chip, Systems-on-Board and Embedded Systems Software. 21 January 2014 Linate International Airport, Italy - Installation of the S4ECoB system

Partner D'Appolonia with assistance of SEA installed the audio sensors and the acoustic processing unit in the demonstration area at Linate Airport.

8 – 10 October 2013 Cagliari, Italy – S4ECoB at DASIP 2013

IMMS and Fraunhofer IDMT participated at DASIP 2013 the Conference on Design & Architectures for Signal & Image Processing. The partners submitted a paper and presented a poster as well as the S4ECoB-demonstrator (see pictures below). More information can be provided upon request.

23 August 2013 – An outstanding paper of the EAR-IT project was awarded at iThings2013

An EAR-IT paper written by Fraunhofer IDMT and EGM researchers submitted to the iThings2013 conference in Beijing, China has been awarded with the Outstanding Paper Award. The paper presents research carried out within the project EAR-IT, which is working on the challenges of bringing acoustic sensing intelligence to large-scale indoor and outdoor wireless sensor networks. 16 August 2013 – Paper and demonstration at DASIP 2013

S4ECoB partners Fraunhofer IDMT and IMMS have successfully placed a paper and a demonstration titled "Networked Embedded Acoustic Processing System for Smart Building Applications" at the Conference on Design & Architectures for Signal & Image Processing (DASIP 2013). 15 July 2013 S4ECoB at Embedded World 2013

IMMS participated at this years Embedded World 2013 fair with its own booth. Among others IMMS also presented a prototype of the S4ECoB acoustic processing unit (see pictures below).

11 February 2013 - New deliverables available

Two deliverables of the project - 'Acoustic measurements and front-end hardware' and 'Integration of occupancy sensor network with the BEMO server' are now available on the website for download. See the section Downloads.
